Where

We receive proposals from around the world that align with our founding principles and are always open to exploring new opportunities for collaboration. If you believe your project fits our vision, we would love to hear from you. By working together, we can support initiatives capable of generating a positive and lasting impact on people, communities, and the places they call home.

When

Funding applications open during the final quarter of the year. The selection and allocation of funds takes place at the beginning of the following year. Stay tuned for updates on exact dates.

Initial application review

We assess each proposal to ensure it aligns with our values and objectives. If needed, we’ll contact you for additional information.

Committee evaluation

Our committee reviews the most promising applications, prioritising those with strong community impact and aligned with our mission of social transformation through cycling.

Notification of beneficiaries

Selected projects will be contacted a few weeks after the application period closes. We’ll coordinate funding, address any questions and define the next steps.

Orbea Foundation is the natural evolution of our commitment as a cooperative. It was created to amplify the positive impact we have already been generating and structure it with a clear vision: using the bicycle as a tool to transform communities, advance social justice and protect the environment.
Because we felt it was the right time to give structure, scale and continuity to initiatives that were already underway within Orbea. Many of these projects emerged organically, driven by the passion of our people. The Foundation allows us to strengthen them and take them further.
Beyond the Ride sums up our belief that the bicycle is much more than a sport or a means of transport. It is a catalyst for change; a starting point for creating lasting social, environmental and cultural impact.
Orbea designs and manufactures bicycles. Orbea Foundation uses the bicycle as a tool for transformation. The difference lies in its purpose: the Foundation channels resources, partnerships and expertise into projects that create social and community impact.
It wasn't created as a marketing initiative, but as the result of a shared sense of responsibility. It is the outcome of years of projects driven from within Orbea, such as Trail Building, where our people chose to take action to improve the places around them.
A central one. Orbea Foundation exists thanks to the passion, commitment and energy of the people who make up Orbea. We want everyone to feel that the Foundation belongs to them too, because many of its initiatives are inspired by their ideas, values and commitment.

We aim to create tangible impact at three levels: People: inclusion, access and opportunity. Communities: cohesion, wellbeing and local development. Planet: sustainable mobility, conservation and reducing environmental barriers.
The foundation has a global outlook and already collaborates with around 140 associations and organisations around the world. At the same time, it remains deeply connected to the Basque Country, where Orbea was founded and where our identity is rooted.
Because our identity matters. We are a cooperative born in the Basque Country, and we believe that global impact begins with strong local roots. Caring for our communities, our culture and our environment is an essential part of how we grow.
The Foundation is funded by Orbea's own resources. Our goal is to ensure long-term continuity, scalability and sustainability while also securing external investment for projects and collaborating with strategic partners.
We support initiatives aligned with our five strategic pillars: sustainable mobility, grassroots sport, education and research, social inclusion and cultural preservation. They all share one defining characteristic: the ability to create real, measurable impact.
We look for organisations that share our vision and values and have a proven ability to create positive change in their communities. Collaboration, transparency and measurable impact are fundamental criteria.

Social responsibility has been part of our DNA for decades as a cooperative. Orbea Foundation is the natural evolution of that approach to business: not as an end in itself, but as a means of contributing to a better society.
The foundation wasn't started today. What we're launching today is a structure to strengthen and expand projects that already existed. It is built on years of genuine commitment, real people and meaningful action.
