We support the creation of safe, suitable environments for cycling in all its forms. We promote the development and upkeep of bike-friendly trails, the design of cycle paths in public areas, and the adaptation of safe training zones to ensure high-quality access to sport.

Sinoa

Sierra Norte Viva (SINOA) has been working since 2020 to protect the environment and promote eco-social justice by maintaining trails and encouraging outdoor sports.

The contribution will go to the “Pura Esencia” project, which aims to promote mountain biking by maintaining and revitalising trails in the province of Málaga —especially around Villanueva del Rosario and areas such as Sierra Gorda, Sierra del Jobo and Sierra de Camarolos.

The project will enhance cycling infrastructure, encourage mountain biking, health and wellbeing, and boost eco-tourism for local economic development and sustainability.

Senderos con Historia recovers and adapts historic routes in Spain’s rural interior for MTB. It promotes cycling in underpopulated areas with a focus on all-mountain riding—between technical XC and light enduro—thanks to ideal terrain and a rich network of trails.

The contribution will support the restoration of historic trails, their adaptation for MTB, the development of new routes and the expansion of the Matarraña Bike Park in a strategic location.

The project will enhance cycling infrastructure in Spain’s depopulated areas, fostering MTB in all its forms and promoting sustainable and tourism-driven regional growth. Its long-term goal is to become a national benchmark in all-mountain MTB.

Bguara

Bguara works to position the Sierra de Guara as a prime destination for mountain biking and gravel, promoting the creation and upkeep of cycling infrastructure.

Orbea Foundation supports the Bguara Cycling Rocks project through actions that maintain and create cycling routes, showcasing the area as a haven for mountain bikers.

The project will help establish a sustainable cycling destination, improving infrastructure and accessibility for professional, amateur and educational riders.

Trash free Trails

Trash Free Trails is committed to preserving natural trails, promoting cleanup efforts, sustainable trail management and community involvement to care for outdoor spaces.

Orbea Foundation has supported Trash Free Trails by funding promotional bikes, event organisation, storytelling on digital channels, MTB partnerships, presentations and ambassadors in 2024.

This strategic support contributes to achieving European standards in cycling infrastructure, promoting recreational and educational cycling, and enhancing sustainability on every route.

Bera Bike Park – Bikedasoa

Bidasoa was created to develop and maintain a network of trails in the Bidasoa Valley, connecting the villages of Bera, Lesaka, and Igantzi. Our goal is to nurture a passion for cycling and build an infrastructure that allows people of all levels to enjoy and practice mountain biking.

With the support of the Fundación Orbea, the association has legalized the existing trails, developed new trails for all levels, and created a sustainable maintenance plan. This support has also enabled the association to engage local government and secure additional funding to ensure the long-term future of the trail network.

Tamaria. Los caminos del monte vindio

Tamaria – Los Caminos del Monte Vindio, formed in 2021, works on building and maintaining trails in Guardo and Velilla del Río Carrión, aiming to strengthen local cycling infrastructure.

The funding will continue trail development in this area, including infrastructure upgrades and network expansion.

The project seeks to consolidate high-quality cycling infrastructure, boosting the sport locally and attracting tourism to the region.

GIMBE (Mountain bike association of Gipuzkoa)

GIMBE is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the sustainable development of mountain biking in the province of Gipuzkoa.

The funding will go toward regularising and improving cycling infrastructure through projects in various municipalities to establish MTB Centres. GIMBE will also coordinate and promote efforts between riders, clubs and institutions.

The project aims to build a high-quality cycling network in Gipuzkoa, encouraging MTB activity and ensuring long-term sustainability.

Arauntza Riders

Eremua Trail BTT is dedicated to creating, maintaining and improving MTB routes in the Esteribar Valley of Navarra.

The Orbea Foundation supports the hiring of a trail builder and the creation of a Skills Park in Eremua, as well as funding route improvements and services for cycle tourists.

Its goal is to offer high-quality infrastructure for cyclists and promote cycle tourism as a tool for socioeconomic development in rural areas like the Navarrese Pyrenees.

Puro Pirineo

BTT Puro Pirineo is a non-profit association that develops and maintains a trail network in the Benasque Valley, promoting sustainable MTB, heritage preservation and active tourism.

Mallo de Riglos

The Asociación Reino de los Mallos is responsible for promoting tourism in this Pre-Pyrenean region of Huesca, internationally known for the Mallos de Riglos. In 2019, they launched the Reino de los Mallos Bike project, focused on creating mountain bike routes and recovering traditional shared-use trails.

Thanks to support from Orbea Foundation, a local crew has been created to carry out annual trail maintenance across the entire Reino de los Mallos Bike network. Additionally, the opening of new trails for events has been supported.

Boost the region’s socioeconomic development through cycle tourism, especially in autumn, winter and spring. Promote the creation and preservation of shared-use trails as sustainable infrastructure to attract more visitors and preserve the traditional trail heritage. Encourage bicycle use among locals and continue strengthening the Reino de los Mallos Cycling School.
